I wonder if the problem isn't that they're trying too hard... --I think maybe! Putting in more and more of *something* because they can't capture the entirety of what the scent of the living flower is. I feel like there's an enduring truth here... it's like people wanting to distill essences from things, but the thing in its whole undistilled self is what's special, a lot of the time, or at least SOME time.
