ripples or smiles

(this post is not holiday related ... also I'm not at home and have only very temporary and fleeting Internet access, so I'll be visiting everyone's journals later)

You know how if you close your eyes there are sparks and flashes you can see behind your eyelids? Just now I closed my eyes and there were all these curves, like many many faceless smiles, or like many tiny ripples, or like lots of closed eyes (the way those are always drawn with the same concave curve, like smiles are), or like fish scales, or like roof tiles.

Maybe each of those interpretations is a theme for a day: Day of Faceless Smiles, Day of Ripples, Day of Closed Eyes, Day of Fish Scales, Day of Roof Tiles.

This happens to me pretty often.

Hope your day is a good one.

It had some very nice moments. I saw somewhere (in a comment you gave someone? IDK) that you were involved in non-skin-breaking swordplay. That sounds like great fun!

Quite interesting themes, especially "Day of Fish Scales" and "Day of Roof Tiles.:

Hugs and Happy Holidays, F!

Hugs and holidays to you too, G! I should send you an update photo of the glorious loquats ♥

Would love to get an update photo of the loquats, F! Not urgent, though-just whenever you can. That they thrived thru your cold weather is amazing. Hats off to you! Are they indoors now?

Naomi and I were not as lucky with the apple seeds you gave us or at least the few that we tried to grow from the lot you had sent. I guess we were too excited and just sowed the seeds directly in the potting soil. We hope to do better with the rest of the seeds which we plan to plant when the weather gets warmer. I think this time we will soak them in water and leave them in the refrigerator for a bit before planting them. Do you think that will be better?

Have a great 2015, F!

Day you pole your boat, eyes closed, across the ripples, while underneath the fish are passing, in all their imbricated glory.

I look forward to celebrating Day of Closed Eyes. I am so very tired!

May you get a lovely day or days of closed eyes, with a cup of your favorite hot beverage within easy reach!

The day of television tuned to a dead channel.

Now to me *that* looks like mainly sleet---but it does also bear a very strong resemblance to what I often see when I close my eyes.

Oh, and we had this at the wildlife center apparently.

what a sweet, sweet bird! I've never seen or heard of them, but I love his little face. And he's a waterbird? Amazing.
