And now I'm giggling at the thought of George W. as a Klingon.

[livejournal.com profile] desperance was talking about the impossibility of a culture that worked the way these people's culture does, but I'm thinking now, springboarding off your remark about Worf's reactions, about how all the main alien groups in the Star Trek universe are one- or maybe two-note (Vulcans: logical and unemotional; Klingons: violent and honorable; Romulans: warlike and scheming; Borg: collectivist, expansionist; Ferengi: entrepreneurial, greedy; Cardassians: oppressive, authoritarian). In some storylines, they try to add depth to this, but they're pretty hamstrung by the overall conceptualization.
