No worries at all! I remember thinking about this a lot for my fictional floating community in Pen Pal, but the truth is I don't know how it works in real life for these real communities. The homes I've visited all have running water and are all above the high water mark--and I guess if they did get flooded, say in a storm, it would be as bad as anywhere is when unexpected flooding happens. But I don't know what the homes on stilts or the floating homes do.
